Reader A Reading from Paul’s Letter to the Philippians
To me, living is Christ and dying is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which I prefer. I am hard pressed between the two: my desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better; but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for you. Since I am convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in faith, so that I may share abundantly in your boasting in Christ Jesus when I come to you again.
Only, live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent and hear about you, I will know that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind for the faith of the gospel, and are in no way intimidated by your opponents. For them this is evidence of their destruction, but of your salvation. And this is God’s doing. Administration of Communion
At the time of communion, you are invited to come forward and receive the bread and wine. The priest will place a wafer in your hand. You may then receive wine either by direct consumption from a chalice (Common Cup), or you may give the wafer to the Eucharistic minister who will dip the wafer in the wine and place the wafer on your tongue. You may also still come forward to receive a blessing. Simply cross your arms over your chest before the priest for the blessing. After receiving communion or a blessing, you may return to your seat.

Today we welcome The Rev. Raymond Hanna to St. Titus’. He has been a priest for 32 years, and served as rector of Trinity, Mount Airy for 13 years. Most recently, he served as the interim rector at St. Paul’s, Wilmington from which he retired. Post retirement, he served at St. Stephen’s, Erwin as part time priest in charge until fully retiring six months ago. He grew up in Philadelphia and has two adult children and a rescue dog named Marvin.
Please bring School Supplies to support our C.C. Spaulding Elementary School students. Suggestions include pens, pencils, notebook paper, binders, clips, Kleenex, and snacks.
