Prayers of the People

Holy and gracious Father: In your infinite love you made us for yourself; and, when we had fallen into sin and become subject to evil and death, you, in your mercy, sent Jesus Christ, your only and eternal Son, to share our human nature, to live and die as one of us, to reconcile us to you, the God and Father of all.

The Priest invites the people to Communion

Administration of Communion
At the time of communion, you are invited to come forward and receive the bread and wine. The priest will place a wafer in your hand. You may then receive wine either by direct consumption from a chalice (Common Cup), or you may give the wafer to the Eucharistic minister who will dip the wafer in the wine and place the wafer on your tongue. You may also still come forward to receive a blessing. Simply cross your arms over your chest before the priest for the blessing. After receiving communion or a blessing, you may return to your seat.

St. Titus’ is excited to announce that The Reverend Valerie J. Mayo has accepted the call as Rector of our church. Previously, Rev. Valerie served as the Director of Community Life at Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, VA; Urban Missioner for the Diocese of Kentucky; University of Louisville Episcopal/Lutheran Campus Chaplain & Priest-in-Charge of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Louisville, Kentucky; and was the inaugural Director of Beloved Community Initiatives at the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas.
Rev. Valerie is a graduate of Saint Paul’s College (BA), Duke Divinity School (MTS), and Virginia Theological Seminary (MDiv). She received her clinical pastoral education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She resides in Durham with her 12-year-old son, Elijah. Her daughter, Valerie Victoria, is actively serving in the US Air Force.

Please plan to have dinner and meet our pilgrims from Botswana on Monday night, November 13, 2023. Join Lew Myers, a member of the NC Diocese-Botswana Companion Link Committee, and the nine pilgrims (7 women and 2 men) who will be visiting various churches and attending the Diocesan Convention in Winston-Salem. The purpose of the dinner is for them to have an opportunity to meet parishioners in the diocese. We will have a brief service at 5:30pm with Bishop Sam followed by dinner. Please sign the list in the narthex by Sunday, November 5th so we can have an accurate count for dinner.
Yokefellows volunteers and their congregations are invited to provide snacks for about 50-60 residents who come to the Yokefellows meetings on Tuesday evenings at Orange Correctional Center in Hillsborough. We are invited to provide a snack (fruit, cookies, or packaged snacks). Open dates are Nov. 7 and Dec. 5. The theme for this year is “Renewal and Revitalization,” where you are asked to reflect on what you are able to give to the church – whether it be your time, your talent, or your treasure.
